Created as part of a commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of women’s suffrage in Montana, Women’s History Matters is designed to recognized the varied roles of women in the Treasure State’s past. Visit the Women’s History Matters website to learn more.

The year 2014 marks Charles M. Russell’s 150 birthday, the 150th anniversary of the creation of Montana Territory, the 100th anniversary of the passage of women’s suffrage in Montana, and the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness and Civil Rights Acts. Stay tuned throughout the year for commemorative projects and events.

The MHS staff is hard at work for you. The newly refreshed Mackay Gallery of C.M. Russell Art is reopened for your enjoyment this summer. The Research Center will have its major shelving project done by April 15 and all of the collections will again be available. Watch for new exhibits on artist Robert Scriver and another celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Montana Territory and MHS itself. It’s all happening this summer at the Montana Historical Society. Come join in the fun and excitement.
