Noted filmmakers Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan headlined a special Montana
Historical Society event in Bozeman in January. They thrilled the
audience of more than 700 in the Emerson Center with a special sneak
preview of their new documentary to be aired this fall on PBS titled
"The National Parks: American's Best Idea." The program and a special
pre-program event to allow Society Members and others to meet and talk
with Burns and Duncan also sold out. Duncan and Burns both praised the
Society collections and staff for helping in their project. The proceeds
from the event benefit the important work of the Society. Society
Director Richard Sims said he hopes to hold other special programs in
other Montana cities in the future.
